Jenny practices within the following therapeutic modalities

Psychodynamic psychotherapy
This is a general name for therapeutic approaches which help bring true emotions to the surface, so that you can experience and understand them.

Object relations
This theory emphasizes interpersonal relationships, primarily in the family and especially between the mother and child. It focuses on the belief that past relationships affect a person in the present.

Attachment theory
This theory deals with people’s emotional bonds and connections with significant others in their lives.

Narrative Therapy
This therapy believes that people are the experts in their own lives. It views problems as separate from people and assumes people have many skills, competencies, beliefs, values, commitments and abilities that will assist them to reduce the influence of problems in their lives.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
This therapy is based on the idea that our thoughts cause our feelings and behaviours, not external things, like people, situations, and events.  The benefit of this is that we can change the way we think, and we will feel/behave better, even if the situation does not change.

Jenny is well trained in all these modalities and integrates these approaches in her practice and therapy to meet clients’ individual needs.
